Our client is a manufacturer of speciality products with innovation and sustainability key to their activities, having recently centralised their procurement activities and are now recruiting for a Global Procurement Manager to be based in their office in Amsterdam, working across  MRO & Capex for their Global sites. 

The successful Global Procurement Manager will take responsibility for leading the strategic sourcing activities for their specific category areas. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of procurement within this dynamic environment with a clear strategic direction as they continue to grow their operations globally.  

Global Procurement Manager Key responsibilities:

  • Achieving cost reductions within specific category area.

  • Managing and improving vendor service levels.

  • Identify, evaluate and select suppliers, negotiate and close framework agreements of Global and EU region products and services.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of suppliers markets and trends for the specific category area.

  • Analysis of supply and demand trends, perform best-in-class negotiation processes.

  • Supplier relationship management on both a global and regional basis.

  • Vendor performance management.

  • Drive product demand optimisation.

  • Provide guidance and guidelines to the regional/local procurement personnel. 

Essential skills required:

  • Category experience within processing / MRO / Capex / technical equipment within manufacturing sites / facilities.

  • Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.

  • Engineering industry experience is an advantage.

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in relevant field.

  • Proven experience of management complex, cross-functional activities and executing key procurement processes.

  • Solid market knowledge within commodity area.

  • Driven, strategic thinker with solid business acumen.
